Membership

What being a member actually gets you.

Three things, and we mean all three: the whole library open from day one, a piece of our own kit with every booking, and a trip planned around the way you travel rather than the way a checklist says you should.

01 — The library

Every guide, unlocked from the day it goes live.

Membership opens the whole library and keeps it open: the regional journeys, the city guides, the hotel dossiers. No single purchases, no counting free articles, no paywall appearing halfway down a page you had already started reading. When a new region lands, it is simply there in your account.

Why it matters

Planning a trip is never one guide. It is three or four, read out of order, over a few weeks.

What's inside

Day-by-day routes, the hotels we would book ourselves, when a place is busy and when it isn't, and the tables worth the detour.

It keeps growing

Guides are corrected and extended after we travel them again. You read the current version, not the one you paid for.

02 — The gift

Something from us with every booking.

Every stay booked through Placer arrives with a piece of our own kit. Not a branded pen and not a discount code — things we made because we wanted them ourselves and now travel with: caps in three colours, a tote that survives a market morning, a towel that is dry again by the time you leave the lake.

How it works

Choose your piece at checkout. It ships before you travel, not after.

Made properly

Small runs, materials we name, and a logo no bigger than it needs to be.

Every time

Not a welcome present once. With every booking over three nights, for as long as you are a member.

One piece per booking, on stays of three nights or more.

03 — The planning

An itinerary built around the way you actually travel.

Tell us how you move — early starts or long lunches, two bases or five, walking days or a car and a swim — and we build the week around that. And if something shifts once you are there, you write to one person who knows the trip rather than a help centre.

Before

A route, bases and bookings that fit your pace — drafted with you rather than handed over.

On the road

One person to write to while you are travelling, who already knows your plan.

Afterwards

What worked stays in your account for the next trip, and goes back into the guides.
