COOKIE SETTINGS
1. What this covers
Cookies and similar technologies - local storage, pixels, device identifiers - store or read information on your device when you use placertravel.com. Under section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act we may only do this without your consent where it is strictly necessary to deliver a service you have asked for. Everything else runs only if you allow it.
2. Categories we use
- Strictly necessary - session and login state, your cookie choices, security and fraud prevention during checkout. Cannot be switched off; no consent required.
- Functional - remembering preferences such as currency or saved stays. Set only with your consent.
- Analytics - how the site is used, which pages work, where bookings break off. Set only with your consent. We currently use no analytics tools at all.
- Marketing - measuring campaigns and showing relevant advertising off-site. Set only with your consent. We currently set no marketing cookies and run no advertising tools.
3. The individual cookies
This is what the site can set today. All of it is necessary to deliver the site, the sign-in and the booking - there is nothing here that waits on your consent, because we run no analytics and no advertising. If that changes, this list and the banner change with it.
- CookieConsent - Cookiebot - stores which categories you allowed, so we can prove it and stop asking - 12 months
- __stripe_mid - Stripe - fraud prevention on the booking and payment pages - 12 months
- __stripe_sid - Stripe - fraud prevention within a single checkout session - 30 minutes
- g_state - Google - remembers that you closed the Google sign-in prompt, so it does not reappear on every page - up to 12 months
- sb-auth-auth-token - Placer, stored in your browser - keeps you signed in to your account - until you sign out or clear your browser
- mapbox.eventData - Mapbox, stored in your browser - set by the map on guide pages - until you clear your browser
4. Changing your mind
Open the cookie settings at any time from the link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and takes effect immediately for the future. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings - some parts of the site may then stop working properly.
5. Consent records
We keep a record of the consent you gave - the choice, the time and the version of the banner - because we have to be able to demonstrate it under Article 7(1) GDPR. We ask again after 12 months, or sooner if what we use changes.
