The story
Placer began as a personal quest to find places that stay true to themselves.
Alexandra and Moritz founded Placer out of a personal quest to discover Europe's most distinctive places — the hotels, villages, and landscapes that still feel deeply connected to where they are. After years of working across hospitality and travel, they decided to bring their experiences together in a project that eventually became Placer.
Today, travel is shaped more than ever by what we see online. A handful of places draw most of the attention, and the crowds that follow slowly reshape them. Meanwhile, countless others remain largely overlooked. Those are often the places that move us most: unassuming, authentic, rooted in the everyday life and culture of where they are, and with a character that feels entirely their own.
Placer is about finding those places. Hotels and destinations with a clear identity, where the experience feels connected to the people, landscape and culture around them.
